White Ribbon Day

Monday 25th November was White Ribbon Day, where men showed their commitment to preventing violence against women and girls.

Such violence starts with men and we must address the attitudes and behaviours that contribute to a fear of violence for women in their day-to-day lives. We must also ensure that the system does all it can to protect women and girls from their abusers.

On White Ribbon Day, I highlighted the need for stronger enforcement of court orders after hearing from two brave women in Maltby. Both had suffered abuse and found that the system failed to protect them when their ex-partners violated court orders. This must change.
