I have had numerous reports of households not receiving their post for several weeks now. Whilst it is a busy time for the postal service, and the post office staff are working their socks off, this is not an excuse. I believe there are problems structurally. I have written to them this morning to seek clarity as to the current situation and to ensure improvements are made.

When I visited the local sorting office a few weeks back, they said that they had hired more staff to improve the service so I am surprised that things appear to have got worse. I will be onto them and see what is going on.

I know in some other areas the post is working well! Do support your postie, and thank them, when you see them. They work long hours, especially at this time of year!
