It is 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp. These horrors are still in living memory for some and must remind us of our collective responsibility to ensure the atrocities of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
I was honoured to sign the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment and pledged my commitment to marking Holocaust Memorial Day.
On this day we also honour the victims of genocide in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. As we reflect and remember the past, we reaffirm our commitment to challenging antisemitism and all forms of prejudice.
Today, we reflect and stand together for a better future.
