I was pleased to meet with Glenn, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Swallownest Miner’s Welfare.

We discussed a range of topics, including funding and grants for local, grassroots football clubs. It was great to speak about the impact of Swallownest FC in the local area and to discuss ways in which the positive impact of local sport can be felt across the whole community. We also spoke about how the extra land in and around the Miner’s Welfare can be put to better use.

Following this meeting, I have reached out to the Football Foundation and Rotherham United Community Trust to see what else can be done to support the amazing grassroots football teams and clubs in Rother Valley.
