Dinnington Regeneration Project: The Truth

Despite what some post on Facebook, the Dinnington Regeneration project is progressing. Yes, this project will take time – but I am holding regular meetings with the project managers, and speak regularly with local councillors – and progress is being made.

This month, RMBC have made an application for a compulsory purchase order – to force landowners on the high street to sell their properties. This is the only option for the scheme to progress. This will mean some delay – as there is a legal process that needs to be undertaken, but there really is no alternative to delivering. It’s good news this application has been made and I am urging them to act expeditiously, and consider all alternative routes for the project to be delivered as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, the plans for the scheme are ready. I held a public meeting in Dinnington recently where a presentation of the plans was given to those who attended. It’s an exciting project, and I hope Dinnington can get behind it. Of course, not everyone will agree with every aspect, and yes, the works will cause some nuisance to residents at times.

But I am determined to help deliver this project – working with the council, holding them to account, and working with councillors – of whatever party – to achieve what is best for Dinnington and the wider area. This project is a key part of turning the area around.

Don’t believe all the bluff from those only eager to promote themselves. Look into the detail, and let me know if you have any questions.
