Visit to Todwick’s Luncheon Club

It was an absolute pleasure to drop into Todwick’s Luncheon Club yesterday. Whilst going door to door in Todwick, one of my team met a lady called Mrs Hayden. She told them that she was worried about the reducing numbers of attendees at the various different activities in the village. After hearing this, I thought I’d pop along to see for myself!

Yvonne Felix is the wonderful lady behind the Luncheon Club and I couldn’t believe how many were there, and it turns out neither could some of the regulars! They served up delicious meat and potato pie and piping hot chocolate sponge and custard, followed by tea or coffee and a minty chocolate. It was a brilliant atmosphere, with people from in and out of the village in attendance.

As well as the Luncheon Club, The Grey Matters group is held on a Friday in Todwick Church Hall from 2-4pm, with a chance to play games and chat with other residents. Do pop along if you can – it is aimed at the over 55s! More info here: https://www.todwickchurch.co.uk/grey-matter

Groups like the Luncheon Club and Grey Matters are so important to residents’ well-being and for staying involved in the local community.
