This morning, I headed to speak with pupils at Wales Sixth Form, to kickstart my constituency-wide Online Safety Forum programme with high school and college age students.
The purpose of the programme is to better understand how young people use social media and online platforms in the digital age and what the Government can do to make these spaces safer for users.
The discussion was incredibly insightful, focusing on the Government consultation to ban social media for U16s, and how the students use online spaces in safe and proactive ways. I’m looking forward to returning soon to continue my work on this!
Students across Rother Valley will soon be invited to contribute to this so please keep your eyes peeled for more updates.
