Over recent months, many constituents have contacted me with concerns about the impact of social media on children and young people, from mental health and online safety, to bullying, addictive design, and exposure to harmful content.
There are now proposals being discussed nationally around restricting or banning social media use for under-16s. These are serious questions with real consequences for families, schools, and young people themselves.
Before any decisions are taken, I want to hear directly from constituents in Rother Valley.
I will be hosting an online public meeting on Tuesday 3rd March at 6.30PM.
This will be an opportunity to share concerns, ask questions, and discuss what protections children and young people need in the digital age, and what role government should play.
