Every single household that was affected by the issues with water supply will receive compensation – Guaranteed. I’m pleased to have secured that confirmation today from the Chief Executive.
People will not have to do anything. No forms. No calling customer service. But £50 will be credited to them.
This is welcome, but I want to better understand how the compensation will be paid. Whilst £50 is welcome, for many vulnerable people the issue was the lack of water for around 18 hours. I’m urging Yorkshire Water to fully review what has happened, and make sure that lessons are learnt.
