Speeding on the A57

I met with concerned residents living just off the A57. I have seen footage of the racing that occurs most weeks and am shocked that no meaningful action by any authority has been taken in two years.

I have written to the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire police demanding this changes. The footage of the racing is incredibly concerning and we cannot have this lawlessness blighting Rother Valley. I will be working closely with my colleague, Jo White, MP for Bassetlaw, who experiences the same issues with the A57 in her constituency.

I have also raised the issue of speeding and boy racers in the House of Commons.

South Anston High St/Sheffield Rd Proposal

Thank you to everyone who came to the South Anston street surgery – turned impromptu public meeting. I’m really grateful to everyone who expressed their views about the proposed changes to the road system around High Street and Sheffield Road. There was a consensus that speeding and inconsiderate parking are the bigger issues affecting South Anston, rather than the need for a rerouting of the road system.
